  • Engine Room is an out-of-network, cash-based clinic, which means we’re free from insurance restrictions and can focus entirely on you and your goals. Unlike many in-network clinics that see multiple patients at once, we provide one-on-one, personalized sessions designed to get you better, faster, with fewer visits. Many clients are still able to use out-of-network benefits, and we’ll gladly help you navigate that process. Investing directly in your care allows us to deliver the focused, high-quality results you deserve.

  • Nope. Maine is a Direct Access State which means that you can be evaluated and treated directly by a physical therapist without physician referral. This streamlined process not only saves you time but also eliminates the need for unnecessary imaging and other expensive procedures.

  • We accept HSA/FSA, cash, credit and Venmo.

  • We suggest wearing loose-fitting, breathable clothing that allows for easy movement. Athletic clothing like shorts, sweatpants, or leggings and a t-shirt or tank-top are suitable options.

If you're seeking treatment for a specific injury or condition, try to wear clothing that allows easy access to the affected area. For example, if you have a knee issue, wearing shorts or loose pants that can be rolled up is advisable.

  • Your first visit is a 60–75 minute one-on-one session with a Doctor of Physical Therapy. We’ll talk through your medical history, your goals, and what’s been holding you back. You’ll get a full movement assessment, plus hands-on treatment and guidance you can start using right away. By the end of the session, you’ll leave with a clear plan to relieve pain, move better, and get back to the activities you love.

  • The frequency of your visits will be discussed and decided in collaboration with your provider, taking your symptoms as well as your goals into consideration. Our cash-based treatment model grants us the flexibility to tailor your treatment plan to your unique needs and goals. Each treatment session will incorporate a blend of manual therapy, strengthening exercises, and guidance for managing your condition at home.
